The Rolex Submariner is easily one of the most recognisable watches the brand has ever produced, launched in 1953 as a true tool watch for divers, it was also a military issue watch. Over time the Sub has been seen on the wrists of many famous people, and slowly became the stone cold icon that it is today. It is simply a very good watch, does exactly as it promises and it has delivered this time and time again over many iterations, this latest model continues to do exactly this. 
 
Rolex revamped and brought to market this latest model and in true Rolex fashion, managed to make some fundamental changes, moving to a 41mm case and new movement etc, but kept the true essence of the Submariner.
 
Arguably the non-date has been seen as the more elegant of the two models with its entirely symmetrical dial as some people have a taste aversion to the Cyclops magnifier on the sapphire crystal, but as always this is a very personal choice. The new case dimensions and the revamped Oystersteel bracelet continue to make this a fantastic wearing watch, capable of any demands placed on it.
