During the past decade or so, the IWC Aquatimer has lived a very discreet life. A dive watch with a classic look, solid construction and original internal bezel construction, the Aquatimer has long been underappreciated. In order to bring the watch back into the game without changing much to its design, IWC has decided to apply the same recipe it used with the new Mark XX Series and new Pilot Chronograph 43. This is the latest iteration, the 2022 IWC Aquatimer Automatic Collection, now equipped with a 5-day power reserve movement. 
 
The biggest change to this new model is it now carries the Richemonts calibre 32111 in-house movement with an incredible 120 hours power reserve and although hidden under the screwed down solid case-back is highly decorated with Geneva stripes and perlage.
 
As it is a professional dive watch it has a unique special rotating bezel with an internal and external mechanical connection, known as the safeDive system. The SafeDive system ensures that the inner ring with the dive time scale always rotates counterclockwise. Therefore, even in the event of an unintentional adjustment, the dive time can never be extended, and the diver's safety is guaranteed at all times.
