Lifestyle Watches are pleased to offer to market this stunning and immaculate August 2014 Christopher Ward C9 Harrison Chronograph. This watch was limited to 250 pieces when it was released to market, our watch is numbered 192.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the world’s first precision timepiece, John Harrison’s H4 Marine Chronometer, Christopher Ward launched the C9 Harrison range of three watches inspired by the watchmaker who cracked ‘the Longitude Problem’. Up until 1760, many lives were being lost at sea because ships were unable to navigate accurately. The losses were so great that Parliament passed The Longitude Act in 1714 in order to set up an award of £20,000 (equivalent to about £3 million today) to anyone who could come up with a solution.
Harrison’s H4 Marine Chronometer was the first timepiece that made that possible.
The dial is absolutely stunning and it's inspired from the colour of the oceans which John Harrison helped to tame. This limited edition model has a rather impressive movement at its heart, it runs a modified Valjoux 7750 which is visible through the exhibition caseback.
This is a chronograph of exceptional quality which will never go unnoticed.
